About Sarah Louise Fern

Sarah Louise Fern is the creator of the Bramwell Bear series, a collection of gentle, story-led adventures designed to spark imagination and nurture a love of reading in young children. Inspired by nature, quiet moments, and the magic of everyday discovery, Sarah’s stories follow Bramwell Bear and his loyal companion Scruffy as they explore woodland paths, form friendships, and learn that courage and kindness often go hand in hand. Through warm storytelling and beautifully imagined settings, Sarah hopes to create stories that children return to again and again—stories that feel comforting, meaningful, and full of heart.

Bramwell is a thoughtful and gentle explorer who loves discovering new places and helping others along the way.  

With his lantern in hand and a curious spirit, he shows that courage doesn't have to be loud, it can be quiet, kind and full of heart.

Rowan is a small robin with a bright voice and a watchful eye.  He helps guide Bramwell and Scruffy when they need it most.

Scruffy is Bramwell's loyal companion and best friend.  He is cheerful, curious and always ready for an adventure.  Scruffy brings warmth and joy to every journey.  Wherever Bramwell goes, Scruffy is never far behind.

Otto is a friend of Bramwell Bear.  He lives by the water at Otto's Bend.  He can often be found fishing there He Is wise to the ways of the water and Bramwell often visits him for advice and guidance.
